HOW
THE RITMAR MIDGET CHUCK ELIMINATES THE TOUGH DRILLING PROBLEMS...
|
|
THE
COLLET
A slotted collet, internally drilled and punched to the desired
drill size, is provided with a hexagonal head and external threads.
Drill is inserted through the rear of the collet. The flutes
of the drill are gripped by a pair of internal prongs in the
collet head freezing the drill in place and preventing slippage.
Collets will hold drill sizes from #50 to "F"...and fractional
sizes from 1/16" to 1/4" by 64ths. |

|
THE
ADAPTER
A goblet shaped piece having internal threads which mate with
the collet threads. It also has an externally threaded shank
which screws into the driving unit spindle. When the tapered
shank of the collet is screwed into the internal bevel of the
adapter, a squeezing action develops a vice-like grip on the
drill preventing accidental extraction of the drill from the
chuck assembly. Adapter threads fit four standard spindle sizes:
#10-31;1/4"-28;9/32"-40;5/16"-24. |
Both
of these parts are made from steel bar stock, hardened and permanently
coated with a rust preventive.
